How gifts are taken

Gifts to Manchester Central Masjid are processed by a regulated payment provider. You enter your card or bank details on their page, not ours — we never see them. Unless stated otherwise, gifts are taken in GBP.

What happens to your gift

A gift given to a specific appeal is used for that appeal. If an appeal reaches its target or cannot proceed, we will apply the surplus to work of a similar kind, and we will say so on the appeal page rather than moving it quietly.

General gifts go towards the ordinary running of this organization and the work it supports.

Receipts

You will receive a receipt by email at the address you give. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder and then write to imam@manchester-central-masjid.faithops.app. Where the law in our country provides tax relief on charitable gifts, our receipt is issued in the form that relief requires.

Recurring gifts

A recurring gift continues until you stop it. You can stop it at any time from your account, or by writing to imam@manchester-central-masjid.faithops.app, and it will not be taken again. Stopping a recurring gift does not refund gifts already made.

Refunds

A gift is a gift, and we do not ordinarily refund one. We will refund a gift made in genuine error — the wrong amount, a duplicate, or a payment you did not authorize — if you tell us within 30 days. Write to imam@manchester-central-masjid.faithops.app with the date and amount and we will look into it promptly. Suspected fraudulent payments are refunded and reported regardless of timing.

Anonymous gifts

Choosing to give anonymously hides your name from any published list of givers. It does not hide it from us: we are required to keep a record of who gave what, and our payment provider records it too.
